The NSW Environment Protection Authority (the EPA) issues environment protection licences to mines. We require operators to meet legally enforceable conditions relating to noise, air, water, land contamination, waste and other operational matters.
We progressively amend licences to ensure they require continuous improvement. We also review each licence at least every five years.
The EPA sought public feedback to ensure the licence for Cadia mine delivers an appropriate level of regulation.
We wanted to get your feedback on:
- Air emission limits
- Monitoring conditions
- Community access to information.
